Overview

Chepang Hill trek is the most popular trekking routes in Chitwan that passes through the Chepang villages. The unexplored hill trail is a new attraction in Chitwan and this trail as the name signifies has a settlement of the Chepang people who are some of the most backward and endangered communities in Nepal. It is less touristic and new trekking trail where there are no guest houses and lodges on the way to trekking. This is one of the most unique and recent trekking routes around the mid-hills of Nepal. The trek covers the diverse range of land topography, unseen and hidden culture of nomadic Chepang people, hospitality and craftsmanship which includes homemade wine and honey. Trekking to this route takes you through one of the charming villages of Nepal’s hills and also gives an opportunity to know about the culture in this region. They have a unique settlement, social organization, language, culture, religion, and festival. The people who live in the inhospitable and rugged terrain of the central hills of Nepal are live closely in touch with nature and have a detailed knowledge of surrounding animals and plants. Besides the natural beauty, the trail offers cultural highlights of one of the indigenous group belong to marginalized groups of people.

Chepang Hill trek is one of the nearest trekking trails which is located in the western part of Nepal. It offers spectacular views of the mountains and magnificent sunrise and sunset views and this trek in Nepal is part of a national development effort empower poor, rural communities. This is one of the most interesting treks to explore a glimpse of these people and other local communities who live in a mid-hill region of Nepal. They have unique settlements, social organization, language, culture, religious; treks were developing to promote Chepang’s culture and livelihood. These ethnic groups who seem to be much inclined towards Tamang have their own language and way of livelihood. Due to their distinct lifestyle and the remoteness of their homeland, this indigenous group belongs to marginalized groups of Nepal. This is perfect for those people who are fond of soft trekking and want a break from the busy schedule of city life. While doing trekking in this trail, we will enter the Chitwan National Park and this national park is well known for the Jungle safari and birds watching. The perfect season for trekking in this route is between February to June and September to December. Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu

Day 02: Kathmandu to Hugdi Bazaar (306 m)

Day 03: Hugdi Bazaar to Jyandala (1,600m) 5 hrs

Day 04: Jyandala to Gadi (1,275m) 6 hrs

Day 05: Gadi to Shaktikhor (3,55m) 6 hrs

Day 06: Saktikhor to Chitwan (415m)

Day 07: Chitwan to Kathmandu

Day 08: Final departure

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu

After you reach in Kathmandu valley then there will be one guide of our company will be waiting to pick-up you. And after pick-up, we will directly check out the hotel and have some dinner and make some preparation for the trip and take some rest.   

Day 02: Kathmandu to Hugdi Bazaar (306 m)

Early in the morning, we will slowly start our trekking towards Hugdi Bazaar. It takes almost 5 hrs to reach Hugdi Bazaar from Kathmandu valley. The trail ascends from the west side of the highway and follows along a ridgeline.

Day 03: Hugdi Bazaar to Jyandala (1,600m) 5 hrs

After having breakfast early in the morning, we will slowly move towards Jyandala after spending the wonderful night in Hugdi Bazaar. It takes almost 5 hrs to reach Jyandala from Hugdi Bazaar and spend one night in this beautiful village.  

Day 04: Jyandala to Gadi (1,275m) 6 hrs

At the time of trekking, we will have a great opportunity to see the natural and spectacular view which makes it an ideal place. We will have to wade across the river several times before reaching Gadi where we will spend one night. 

Day 05: Gadi to Shaktikhor (3,55m) 6 hrs

Our trail descends down for about 300 meters following a ridgeline. Shaktikhor is another Chepang village and the center of the sustainable tourism initiative of the Chepang people. We will reach Shaktikhor we will visit the Chepang Museum, waterfall, and caves.  

Day 06: Saktikhor to Chitwan (415m)

If the hotel is able to make breakfast then we will have our breakfast and if not we will have our breakfast in the hotel. We will enjoy an amazing surrounding landscape, forest, mountain views, and the clear horizon. And in the Chitwan, we enjoy the dinner along with a brief cultural program and the tribal dances unique to the Chitwan region of Nepal.   

Day 07: Chitwan to Kathmandu

You will have sunrise views early in the morning. The town is the best testimony of preservations of ancient and medieval arts and architecture. After 4 to 5 hrs drive from Chitwan, we will reach Kathmandu valley. And after reach in Kathmandu valley, first of all, we will check out the hotel and then after we will have our farewell dinner and spend one night in this wonderful city.    

Day 08: Final departure

With lots of memory, you will drive towards the international airport of Kathmandu valley. We will sure that it’s not the last time in Nepal and you will provide us to see you again and give us a chance to serve you next time too.
