Overview

Everest Three Pass Trek is one of the most challenging and difficulties trekking destination in the Everest region which is located in the eastern part from Kathmandu valley. It is arguably the most complete trek in Nepal as it covers most of the Everest region on its circular routes. The three pass trek takes us through three different valley systems linked by high passes in the Khumbu region of Nepal on the doorstep to Mt Everest. At the time of trekking, we get an opportunity to enter the home of world highest mountain Mt Everest. The magical trek enables you to see much more in the way of breathtaking mountain vistas than is usually on a trek in Everest. We will pass through the lush forest of rhododendron, pine, oak, and we will have plenty of opportunities to visit monasteries and Sherpa homes of the region. The culture in this particular area of great notebook stuff and interacting with the local folks puts more zest into your adventurous journey as you plod through the Khumbu region of Nepal. Trekking through the trail that passes amidst mountain peaks, cultural villages, Glacier Rivers and lovely vegetations is definitely an experience to take at least once a lifetime.

Everest Three Pass Trek is the best option for adventurous trekkers who are interested to do high pass trekking in the Everest region. The trek begins from Lukla after 30 minutes mountain flight from Kathmandu valley. Crossing them and climbing the peak of Kala Patthar and Gokyo provides an unforgettable Himalayan experience. This route also introduces trekkers to the remote and untouched valley, the Sherpa village of Marlung and the monastery village of Thame. The spectacular view of the high Himalayan peaks including the Everest so close to takes you to a different world. The trek journey is complemented by visits the Sherpa villages, home and monasteries to offer you an insight into the quite but culturally Sherpa lifestyle. We join the popular Khumbu valley trekking routes to hike the Kala Patthar peak and to explore the Everest Base Camp. You will meet friendly Sherpa people, a beautiful village, wonderful mountain views, and a great variety of culture and tradition, colorful festivals and monastery during the time of the trip. We will enter the Sagarmatha National Park which is the home of many rare birds, animals, flora, and fauna and you will consider it for an entire life. The perfect season for trekking in this beautiful region is between February to April and September to December.

Day 05:  Heading to Tengboche (3860m) 5 – 6 hours

Day 06: Trek to Dingboche (4,360 m) 5 – 6 hours

Day 07: Rest day in Dingboche

Day 08: Trek to Chhukung (4750m), climb Chhukung Ri (5,546m) 6 – 7 hrs

Day 09: Cross to Kongma La pass (5535m), trek to Lobuche (4940m) 6 – 7 hours

Day 10: Trek to Gorak Shep (5170 m) 6-7 hours

Day 11: Trek to Kala Patthar (5545 m), then to Lobuche (4940 m) 8 – 9 hrs

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

After you reach in Kathmandu valley then there will be one guide of our company will be waiting to pick-up you. And after pick-up, we will directly check out the hotel and have some dinner and make some preparation for the trip and take some rest.   

Day 02: Fly to Lukla and then towards Phakding (2,651m) 3 - 4 hours

We will drive towards the local airport of Kathmandu to take a mountain flight towards Lukla. After reach in Lukla, we will have our breakfast then after slowly move towards Phakding. On this time, we will walk down to the Dudh Koshi River where we connect with the main path to Namche Bazaar and spend overnight in Phakding.  

Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,438m) 5 - 6 hours

We will walk to Namche Bazaar from Phakding. We will cross many suspension bridges of this route. Our trail takes us first over the Dudh Koshi River and then through the beautiful pine forest of Monjo. We will have our lunch on the way then after we will slowly move towards Namche Bazaar where we will spend overnight.

Day 04: Rest day in Namche Bazaar

Today we don’t start our trekking today is for the rest day. And we will take rest in Namche Bazaar. In the daytime after having lunch at the hotel, we will explore all around the Namche Bazaar and in the evening we will come back to the hotel and spend one night.

Day 05:  Heading to Tengboche (3860m) 5 - 6 hours

Spending the wonderful night in Namche Bazaar we will slowly move towards Tengboche after having breakfast in the hotel. We get an opportunity to see the monastery on the way while this day trekking and spend overnight in Tengboche.

Day 06: Trek to Dingboche (4,360 m) 5 - 6 hours

Leaving Tengboche for Dingboche after having breakfast early in the morning and we can admire good views of the mountain. We get an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain from the way. We will have our lunch on the way then after slowly move towards our destinations where we will spend overnight.    

Day 07: Rest day in Dingboche

Today we don’t start our trekking today is for the rest day. And we will take rest in Dingboche. In the daytime after having lunch at the hotel, we will explore all around the Dingboche and in the evening we will come back to the hotel and spend one night.

Day 08: Trek to Chhukung (4750m), climb Chhukung Ri (5,546m) 6 – 7 hrs

After reach in Chhukung, we will have our lunch and take some rest in this beautiful place. And we will slowly climb towards Chhukung Ri where we will spend overnight.

Day 09: Cross to Kongma La pass (5535m), trek to Lobuche (4940m) 6 - 7 hours

In the early morning, we will start our trekking and we will have our breakfast in the way because today we will cross to Kongma La Pass. After completing the Kongma La Pass, we will back to the hotel and have our lunch then after we will trek towards Lobuche where we will spend a night.

Day 10: Trek to Gorak Shep (5170 m) 6-7 hours

Today we will explore base camp and its surroundings glacier and return back to Gorak Shep. We enjoy incredible melt pattern and admire the gently rounded ice towers on the upper part of Khumbu glacier.  

Day 11: Trek to Kala Patthar (5545 m), then to Lobuche (4940 m) 8 - 9 hrs

We wake up early in the morning for a walk up to the Kala Patthar. Mornings are usually sparkling and clear and this is the best time to climb the Kala Patthar. After exploring all around the Kala Patthar, from there we will trek towards Lobuche where we will spend overnight.

Day 12: Trek to Dzongla (4830m) 3 - 4 hours

From here, the trek descends to Dzongla. We will have a great opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain before reaching Dzongla where we will spend overnight. 

Day 13: Trek to Gokyo (4800m) 7 - 8 hours

We leave Dzongla for Gokyo after having breakfast early in the morning in the hotel. This valley stands by the third lake and Cho-Oyu Mountains as a backdrop set an amazing spectacular sight at this Junction and spends overnight in this land.   

Day 14: Rest day in Gokyo

Today we don’t start our trekking today is for the rest day. And we will take rest in Gokyo Ri. In the daytime after having lunch at the hotel, we will explore all around the Gokyo Ri and in the evening we will come back to the hotel and spend one night.

Day 15: Trek to Marlung (4210m) 7 - 8 hours

From here, the scenery of the mountain in all directions is breathtaking. On the way, we have a great view of the mountain, beautiful landscapes, and we have crossed many suspension bridges then after we will reach Marlung and spend overnight.  

Day 16: Heading to Namche Bazaar 5 - 6 hours

Today a steep descent takes us to a bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. We will have our lunch on the way then after we will slowly move towards Namche Bazaar where we will spend one night. 

Day 17: Heading to Lukla 6 - 7 hours

We leave Namche Bazaar to move towards Lukla. Today is the last day trekking in the Everest region? From Namche Bazaar, it takes almost 5 to 6 hrs to reach Lukla. We will have our lunch on the way then after slowly move towards Lukla where we spend one night.

Day 18: Lukla to Kathmandu

We will take early the morning flight to Kathmandu valley from the airport of Lukla. And after reach in Kathmandu valley, first of all, we will check out the hotel and then after we will have our farewell dinner and spend one night in this wonderful city.  

Day 19: Final Departure

With lots of memory, you will drive towards the international airport of Kathmandu valley. We will sure that it’s not the last time in Nepal and you will provide us to see you again and give us a chance to serve you next time too.
