Manaslu Rupina la Pass Trek is one of the challenging trekking destinations in the Manaslu region. It is the less touristy area of Nepal Himalayas lies in the Manaslu region. The trail includes many villages; this is inhabited by Gurungs and provides us to explore the remarkable culture, their tradition, and their lifestyle. Once in this trek, you will delve into the rich culture and natural beauty of the region which has a dominance of Tibetan culture. This trek is getting more and more popular as a new trekking destination but it is still seeing fewer trekkers compared to the established trekking route in the Annapurna region. The local inhabitant and their cultures and traditions are also major attractions. It is geographically spectacular and the unbeaten trail of the lower Manaslu region and the geological variation impacts a cultural aspect as you step up every day. This trekking region is a natural habitat for many elusive wild animals. Trekking around this region offers an opportunity to experiences a reasonably untouched region of Nepal and super beauty along the border of Nepal and China.

Manaslu Rupina la Pass Trek is newly opened trekking destinations in the Manaslu region which begins from Gorkha district. The trekking routes cover many villagers mainly inhabitant by Gurung and give us a chance to be a part of amazing culture and tradition. For trekking in this route, we need a special trekking permit because this trekking route is restricted trekking destination of Nepal. It is a mixture of mountain scenery, natural beauty, and unique culture with historical dignity. Trekkers can enjoy the Tibetan culture with Lamaism and this trek offers superb Himalayan scenery, lush valleys, beautiful landscapes, wild animals and birds. We will enter into the home of the world 8th highest mountain Mt Manaslu. You will also come across cultural diversities and natural scenery with high altitude dreamy glacier lake and floras, and fauna. This is the unique combination of rich cultural heritage and adventure amidst vantage point with incomparable beauty and rare biodiversity. At the time of trekking, we get an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain like Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Ngadi Chuli, Himal Chuli, and many other mountains of this route. We will enter the Manaslu conservation area where we get a chance to see many rare birds, animals, flora, and fauna. The trek is traveling to the wilderness which is almost hidden but geographically views of the natural life and cultural richness. The perfect season between March to May and September to December is the best season for trekking in this route.

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu

Day 02: Drive Kathmandu – Baluwa (755m) 9-10 hrs

Day 03: Trek Baluwa – Barpak (1950 m) 5-6 hrs trek

Day 04: Barpak – Gaikharka (3217m) 6-7 hrs

Day 05: Gaikharka – Bhaisi Kharka (2960m) 6-7 hrs

Day 06: Bhaisi Kharka – Rupi Na la phedi(3760m) 5-6 hrs

Day 07: Rupina La Phedi – Base camp 5-6 hrs

Day 08: Base camp – Zokbatang (3125m) 6-7 hrs

Day 09: Zokbatang – Nyak (2390m) 7-8 hrs.

Day 10: Nyak – Bi Phedi (2660m) 6-7 hrs.

Day 11: Bihi Phedi – Lho (3,180m) 6-7 hrs

Day 12: Lho – Samagaon (3530m) 5-6 hrs

Day 13: Rest day in Samagaon

Day 14: Samagaun – Samdo (3860m) 3-4 hrs

Day 15: Samdo – Dharamsala (4460m) 4-5 hrs

Day 16: Dharamsala – Bimthang (3720m) 8-9 hrs

Day 17: Bimthang – Tilje (2360m) 6-7 hrs

Day 18: Tilje – chyamje (1430 m) 4-5 hrs

Day19: – Chamje to Kathmandu by Public Bus or Jeep 8-9 hours

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu

After you reach in Kathmandu valley then there will be one guide of our company will be waiting to pick-up you. And after pick-up, we will directly check out the hotel and have some dinner and make some preparation for the trip and take some rest.   

Day 02: Drive Kathmandu – Baluwa (755m) 9-10 hrs

We will drive towards Baluwa after having breakfast in the hotel where you have spent last night. On the way, we will get an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, and beautiful landscapes before reaching Baluwa and spend one night in this beautiful village. 

Day 03: Trek Baluwa – Barpak (1950 m) 5-6 hrs trek

Today is the first-day trek where we will walk from Baluwa to Barpak. On the way, we will get an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, and beautiful landscapes before reaching Barpak and spend one night in this beautiful village.

Day 04: Barpak – Gaikharka (3217m) 6-7 hrs

On the route, we get an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, not only that we have an opportunity to see the beautiful landscapes, small villages, and the forest rhododendron on the way. After a few hours walk, we will reach the place where we will have our dinner and slowly move towards Gaikharka where we will spend a night. 

Day 05: Gaikharka – Bhaisi Kharka (2960m) 6-7 hrs

The trail ascends as we leave Gaikharka village passing rhododendron and oak forest. We will have our lunch on the way then after we will take some rest and then we will slowly move towards Bhaisi Kharka where we will spend overnight.  

Day 06: Bhaisi Kharka - Rupi Na la Phedi (3760m) 5-6 hrs

This is a quite short walk high compared to previous day walk and a nice place too. It takes almost 5 to 6 hrs to reach Rupina La Phedi from Bhaisi Kharka. We will have our lunch on the way then after slowly move towards Rupina La Phedi where we will spend overnight.

Day 07: Rupina La Phedi - Base Camp 5-6 hrs

The trek descends down to other side base camp where a small herder hut is. We cross tow glacier to Jarang and moderately flat trails to another beautiful campsite. We will have our lunch on the way then after we will slowly move towards Base Camp where we will spend one night.    

Day 08: Base camp – Zokbatang (3125m) 6-7 hrs

Today we will have a closest stunning view of Himalayas. During the time of trekking, we will have a great opportunity to see the wonderful views mountain and beautiful landscapes before reaching Zokbatang and spend one night.   

Day 09: Zokbatang – Nyak (2390m) 7-8 hrs.

The trail follows on the left side of Chhilung Khola passing through Gomna and Serang village and Nyak village. We will have our lunch on the way then after we will slowly move towards Nyak where we will spend one night.       

Day 10: Nyak – Bihi Phedi (2660m) 6-7 hrs.

We leave Nyak for Bihi Phedi after having breakfast in the hotel in the early morning. We trek through the beautiful Sal forest then climb onto a ridge above huge rapids on the Budhi Gandaki.  

Day 11: Bihi Phedi – Lho (3,180m) 6-7 hrs

The narrow tail makes some minor ups and downs and eventually crosses. We continue to Ghatta Khola and walk through a long suspension bridge to reach Phillim. We cross the strong metal bridge over Budhi Gandaki and trek west of the river.

Day 12: Lho - Samagaon (3530m) 5-6 hrs

The trail drops and crosses the side valley of Simnang Himal with close Ganesh Himal always close by. We will get a chance to visit the local monastery and explored Tibetan culture. We will have our lunch on the way and slowly move towards Samagaon where we will spend one night.

Day 13: Rest day in Samagaon

Today we don’t start our trekking today is for the rest day. And we will take rest in Samagaon. In the daytime after having lunch at the hotel, we will explore all around the Samagaon and in the evening we will come back to the hotel and spend one night.  

 Day 14: Samagaun - Samdo (3860m) 3-4 hrs

The trail is uphill and we follow mostly the way gently up. We walk on this day have an easy, gentle walk today from side to side with farmland and villages to arrive at Samdo where we will go spend overnight.     

Day 15: Samdo - Dharamsala (4460m) 4-5 hrs

We will continue our way upwards to reach the stone guest house. We will leave behind the Budhi Gandaki River and walk through the trail that takes us up the acclivity of the high hill. We will have our lunch on the way then after slowly move towards Dharamsala where will spend one night.   

Day 16: Dharamsala - Bimthang (3720m) 8-9 hrs

Today on the route, we can see the lifestyle of the Tamang or Gurung ethnic group. We will have our lunch on the way then after slowly move towards Bimthang where will spend one night.   

Day 17: Bimthang – Tilje (2360m) 6-7 hrs

The trail winds through the villages and climbs a ridge topped by a large Chorten. We also pass by water mills, prayers Chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them. 

Day 18: Tilje – Chyamje (1430 m) 4-5 hrs

We leave Tilije for Chyamje after having breakfast in the hotel. At the time of this day trekking, we will pass through monastery, farms, and waterfalls before reaching Chyamje where we will spend one night.

Day 16: Chyamje to Kathmandu

In the morning after having breakfast, we will drive back towards the Kathmandu valley by the same route. After 8 to 9 hrs drive from Syange, we will reach Kathmandu valley. And after reach in Kathmandu valley, first of all, we will check out the hotel and then after we will have our farewell dinner and spend one night in this wonderful city.   

Day 21: Final departure

With lots of memory, you will drive towards the international airport of Kathmandu valley. We will sure that it’s not the last time in Nepal and you will provide us to see you again and give us a chance to serve you next time too.
