Rara Lake Trek is one of the best treks to view Nepal wildlife. The route is very much off-the-beaten-track and affords a glimpse of culture and scenery very different from the rest of Nepal. Rara Lake Trek is a popular trekking route which is located in the northern-western part of Nepal. The trek begins from the Nepalgunj after 1-hour flight from the Kathmandu valley. We can get magnificent views above of the deep blue clear lake. The surrounding wooded hillside as well as the gorgeous snow-capped peaks nearby and the lake mirror the surrounding mountains. Details Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
After you reach in Kathmandu valley then there will be one guide of our company will be waiting to pick-up you. And after pick-up, we will directly check out the hotel and have some dinner and make some preparation for the trip and take some rest.
Day 02: Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj (150m) 1 hour
We will drive towards the local airport of Kathmandu to take a flight towards Nepalgunj. After reach in Nepalgunj, first of all, we will check out the hotel then after we will have our lunch and explore all around the beautiful place of Nepalgunj and spend overnight.
Day 03: Fly from Nepalgunj to Jumla (2,540m) 20 minutes
If the hotel is able to make breakfast then we will have our breakfast and the move towards the airport of Nepalgunj to fly towards Jumla and if not we will have our breakfast in Jumla. After reach in Jumla, first of all, we will check out the hotel and explore all around the village and spend overnight in this wonderful land.
Day 04: Trek from Jumla to Chere Chaur (3055m) 5-6hrs
Today is the first walking day trekking and from we start our trekking by walking. We get an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, not only that we have an opportunity to see the beautiful landscapes, small villages, and the forest rhododendron on the way. After a few hours walk, we will reach the place where we will have our dinner and slowly move towards Chere Chaur where we will spend a night.
Day 05: Chere Chaur to Chalachaur (2980m) 4hrs
We leave Chere Chaur for Chalachaur after having the hot breakfast in the hotel. From here we can see the trail drop closer to the river before climbing again Chalachaur where we will spend one night.
Day 06: Chalachaur to Sinja Valley (2490m) 5-6hrs
Leaving Chalachaur for Sinja Valley after having breakfast early in the morning and we can admire good views of the mountain. We get an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain from the way. We will have our lunch on the way then after slowly move towards our destinations where we will spend overnight.
Day 07: Sinja to Ghorosingha (3050m) 5-6hrs
At the time of trekking, we will pass through the lush forest of pine, oak, and rhododendron. We will have our lunch on the way then after slowly move towards Ghorosingha and spend one night.
Day 08: Ghorosingha to Rara Lake (3010m) 5-6hrs
We begin our day trek after having breakfast in the hotel of Ghorosingha. We get to admire the mountain views, the vast and tranquil Rara Lake, and the lush vegetation of the Rara National park. And we will have our lunch on the way and slowly move towards Rara Lake where we will spend one night.
Day 09: Explore Rara Lake
Today we don’t start our trekking today is for the rest day. And we will take rest in Rara Lake. In the daytime after having lunch at the hotel, we will explore all around the Rara Lake and in the evening we will come back to the hotel and spend one night.
Day 10: Rara Lake to Pina (2440m) 4hrs
Our trail is easy and we walk on a relatively straight path until Gamgadhi which is headquarters of the remote Mugu District of Nepal. We will have our lunch on the way and take some rest and slowly move towards Pine and we will spend one night.
Day 11: Pina to Bumra (2850m) 3-4hrs
This day we will cross two suspension bridges above Himal River and walk downhill. At the time of trekking, we will have a great opportunity to see the wonderful views of Lake and pass through a few villages before reaching Bumra where we will spend one night.
Day 12: Bumra to Jumla (2540m) 3-4hrs
From Bumra, we will take the tail to Jumla which is a nunnery. At the time of trekking, we will pass through several Chortens adorn barley and bucket fields that have been cut from surrounding pine forest.
Day 13: Fly to Nepalgunj and then fly to Kathmandu
Early in the morning, after having breakfast we will fly towards Nepalgunj. After reach in Nepalgunj, we will have our lunch then after taking some rest and slowly drive towards the local airport of Nepalgunj to fly towards Kathmandu Valley. And after reach in Kathmandu valley, first of all, we will check out the hotel and then after we will have our farewell dinner and spend one night in this wonderful city.
Day 14: Final departure
With lots of memory, you will drive towards the international airport of Kathmandu valley. We will sure that it’s not the last time in Nepal and you will provide us to see you again and give us a chance to serve you next time too.
