Overview
Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek is an ideal trekking route for those some of the remote region of Nepal. It is one of the great Himalayan trails which cover the eastern part of Nepal. The area is first in Nepal to be managed by the local communities and has proved quite successful in the main trail. The local people worship the mountain, there is a tradition among the mountaineers not to stand on the actual summit. This trek is an extensive trek going deep into the remote mountain ranges on Nepal’s border with Sikkim and Tibet. A great opportunity to trek in the complete wilderness away from mainstream from the trekking trail in and around remote and isolated mountain villages enrich with old traditions and cultures. This is even possible to continue on the Yalung glacier base camp if additional equipment necessary to safety traverses the glacier is carried. The trekking route to the base camp passes through the Arun valley which is considered the most beautiful region for trekking in Nepal. Trekking in this region take a little longer than most areas in the Himalayas and the avalanches at Kanchenjunga are said to be the largest anywhere.
Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek is also the third highest mountain in the world standing as less explored and least known. The trekking trail relatively considered as less-traveled trekking destination because of its technical challenges. The ethnic group of Rai and Limbu people lives peacefully together in a magnificent wealth of flora nourished by the higher summer rainfall in this region. Experience a wide range of Nepalese culture and lifestyle and the wonderful opportunities of seeing the impressive Kanchenjunga glacier which is the most famous attraction of Kanchenjunga. Once the trek reaches the high country south of this route, the mountain scenery is some of the most exciting in the world. This is the truly marvelous country with the ridge of the forest setting off the rich flora and cultivated fields of the valleys. We can observe red rhododendron forest, oak, and alpine forest and as we pass through the Kanchenjunga conservation area, we have a great chance to encounter the wild animals like snow leopard, Himalayan black beer, musk deer, red panda, etc. we put great emphasis on authentic experiences and our professional local guide will introduce you to their culture. The perfect season is between March to May and September to December is the best time for trekking in this wonderful land.

Details Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
After you reach in Kathmandu valley then there will be one guide of our company will be waiting to pick-up you. And after pick-up, we will directly check out the hotel and have some dinner and make some preparation for the trip and take some rest.
Day 02: Kathmandu to Biratnagar
We will drive towards the local airport of Kathmandu to take a flight towards Biratnagar. After reach in Biratnagar, first of all, we will check out the hotel then after we will have our lunch and explore all around the beautiful place of Biratnagar and spend overnight.
Day 03: Biratnagar to Mitlung (850m) 5-6 hrs
Today is the first walking day trekking and from we start our trekking by walking. We get an opportunity to see the wonderful views of the mountain, not only that we have an opportunity to see the beautiful landscapes, small villages, and the forest rhododendron on the way. After a few hours walk, we will reach the place where we will have our dinner and slowly move towards Mitlung where we will spend a night.
Day 04: Mitlung to Chirwa (1,190m) 6-7 hrs
We leave Mitlung for Chirwa after having the hot breakfast in the hotel. From here we can see the trail drop closer to the river before climbing again Chirwa where we will spend one night.
Day 05: Chirwa to Sekathum (1,640m) 5-6 hrs
We will have a great chance to see the wonderful views of the mountain, and beautiful landscapes. We will have our lunch on the way then after slowly move towards Sekathum where we will spend overnight.
Day 06: Sekathum to Amjilosa (2,490m) 5-6hrs
The route climbs on a rugged rocky trail where we climb ups and downs ravines and notched trees. We will have our lunch on the way then after slowly move towards Amjilosa where we will spend one night.
Day 07: Amjilosa to Gyabla (2,730m) 4-5hrs
Today our trail is uphill and we follow mostly the way gently up. We walk on this day have an easy, gentle walk today from side to side with farmland and villages to arrive at Gyabla where we will go spend overnight.
Day 08: Gyabla to Ghunsa (3,430m) 5-6hrs
The treks descend through the forest, crossing streams, before tackling a long and steep climb up the south side. The trail then gradually descends, beneath a spectacular waterfall, in the gorge below and a junction before reaching Ghunsa where we will spend overnight.
Day 09: Rest day in Ghunsa
Today we don’t start our trekking today is for the rest day. And we will take rest in Ghunsa. In the daytime after having lunch at the hotel, we will explore all around the Ghunsa and in the evening we will come back to the hotel and spend one night.
Day 10: Ghunsa to Kambachen (4 150m) 5-6 hrs
Cross the suspension bridges onto the opposite bank where we enjoy the great views of Mt Kanchenjunga. We will have our breakfast early in the morning and then we will take some rest and slowly move towards Kambachen where we will spend one night.
Day 11: Kambachen to Lhonak (4,790m) 4-5 hrs
Spending the wonderful night in Kambachen we will slowly move towards Lhonak. We will have a great view of the mountain and beautiful landscapes on the route. On the way, we will have our lunch and slowly move towards Lhonak where we will spend overnight.
Day 12: Lhonak to Pang Pema Base Camp (5,160m) 2-3 hrs
After having breakfast early in the morning we will slowly move towards Pang Pema Base Camp after spending the wonderful night in Lhonak. It takes almost 4 hrs to reach Pang Pema Base Camp from Lhonak. We will have our lunch on the way and move towards Pang Pema Base Camp where we will spend one night.
Day 13: Acclimatization day in Pang Pema Base Camp
Today we don’t start our trekking today is for the rest day. And we will take rest in Pang Pema Base Camp. In the daytime after having lunch at the hotel, we will explore all around the Pang Pema Base Camp and in the evening we will come back to the hotel and spend one night.
Day 14: Pangpema to Kambachen (4,150m) 5-6 hrs
From Pang Pema Base Camp, we will take the tail to Kambachen which is a nunnery. At the time of trekking, we will pass through several Chortens adorn barley and bucket fields that have been cut from surrounding pine forest.
Day 15: Kambachen to Phale (3,140m) 5-6 hrs
Today on the route, we can see the lifestyle of the Tamang or Gurung ethnic group. We will have our lunch on the way then after slowly move towards Phale where will spend one night.
Day 16: Phale to Amjilosa (2,140m) 5-6 hrs
We will pass through the lush forest of rhododendron, pine, and oak before reaching Amjilosa. It takes almost 5 to 6 hrs to reach Amjilosa where we will spend one night in this beautiful land.
Day 17: Amjilosa to Chirwa (1,190m) 5-6 hrs
We leave Amjilosa for Chirwa after having breakfast in the hotel. At the time of this day trekking, we will pass through monastery, farms, and waterfalls before reaching Chirwa where we will spend one night.
Day 18: Chirwa to Linkhim (1,520m) 5-6 hrs
Our trail continues ascending from Linkhim and enjoys the mountain landscapes with abundant waterfalls. We will pass through the lush forest of rhododendron, oak, pine. And we will have our lunch on the way then after slowly move towards our destination where we will spend one night.
Day 19: Linkhim to Suketar (2,700m) 5-6 hrs
The trail winds through the villages and climbs a ridge topped by a large Chorten. We also pass by water mills, prayers Chortens, with sacred mounds of rocks with inscriptions carved on them.
Day 20: Biratnagar to Kathmandu
Early in the morning, after having breakfast we will slowly move towards Biratnagar. After reach in Biratnagar, we will have our lunch then after taking some rest and slowly drive towards the local airport of Biratnagar to fly towards Kathmandu Valley. And after reach in Kathmandu valley, first of all, we will check out the hotel and then after we will have our farewell dinner and spend one night in this wonderful city.
Day 21: Final departure
With lots of memory, you will drive towards the international airport of Kathmandu valley. We will sure that it’s not the last time in Nepal and you will provide us to see you again and give us a chance to serve you next time too.
